Kleine Zeitungsmeldungen, Randnotizen verzweifelter Personen, die nicht einmal einen eigenen Artikel bekommen, haben mich inspiriert, eine lakonische Tragikomödie zu erzählen. Über Menschen, denen das Leben einen Streich gespielt hat und die sich nun zu absurden Handlungen hinreißen lassen, um ihrem Schicksal zu entkommen. Wortlos, mit authentischen Gesichtern. Ich entschied mich für nicht professionelle Darsteller, und wir suchten dort, wo der Film angesiedelt ist; in Kärnten, wo ich auch aufgewachsen bin. In Tankstellen, Werkstätten und auf der Straße. Und wir wurden fündig. Ihr Leben ist in ihre Gesichter geschrieben und wurde zur Seele des Filmes. Ein Reigen, visuell stark und atmosphärisch inszeniert. Ein sehr menschlicher Film, manchmal zärtlich, manchmal brutal und meist skurril.

(Right-click and "Save As...") THOMAS WOSCHITZ Born 1968 in Klagenfurt. Studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome/Italy. Directed several shortfilms, e.g. “People’s Pockets and Bleeding Noses” (1995) and “Blindgänger - Duds” (1996) and the medium lengh film “Girls and Cars (2004) which have all been shown at numerous festivals, such as Venice, Locarno and the Cannes Film Festival. He also realized experimental film-installations like “Oil Film” (1994) and “Loop’s End (2003) or the imaginary sound film “ moving landscape© (2002)“. Together with the music band “Naked Lunch” he realized 2005 the music/film “Closing Time”. And he has worked as a a filmeditor on “La Capa Gira” and "Mio Cognato", both by Alessandro Piva. In 2009 he won the “Max Ophüls - Prize” for “Universalove” which was shown by numerous Film Festivals (Berlinale, Toronto...).
